What this policy covers and who it applies to
Black Stone Roofing, LLC
A family owned roofing and exterior contractor operating out of 1886 Winchester Ave, Martinsburg, WV 25405. We serve Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties in West Virginia along with the northern Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, Washington County in Maryland, and licensed work in Pennsylvania and Florida. Phone (540) 550-9703.
This website and the ways you contact us
This policy covers information collected through this website, through our contact and estimate forms, through phone calls and voicemail, and through text messages exchanged with our office. It does not cover information you give to a manufacturer, an insurance carrier, or a lender as part of your own separate relationship with them.
Giving us information is voluntary
You are never required to submit anything through this site. You can call the office instead and give us only what you want the crew to have. Estimates do not require an email address.
What we actually collect
Contact and project details
Name, phone number, email address, property address, and whatever you tell us about the roof. On insurance work this can also include your carrier name, claim number, and adjuster contact, because we cannot help with a claim without them.
Standard web and device data
IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, time on page, and the site or ad that referred you. This comes in through normal web server logs and analytics tools. We use it to see which pages are useful and which are not.
Roof and property images
Inspection photos, drone imagery, and job site pictures of the property we are working on. We may use these in a portfolio, on our gallery page, or in a Google Business Profile post. If you do not want photos of your property used publicly, tell the crew or call the office and we will pull them.
Payment card numbers on this website
This site does not process payments. There is no checkout, no card field, and no stored card data. Deposits and invoices are handled directly with the office.
What we do with it
Respond to you
Return your call, schedule the inspection, and get a truck to the right address. This is the reason ninety percent of it exists.
Produce and deliver estimates
Build the scope, price the work, and send you a written proposal you can hold onto.
Run the job
Order materials, schedule the crew, document conditions before and after, and support a warranty claim later if one comes up.
Support insurance claims
Share documentation with your carrier or adjuster when you have asked us to be involved in the claim.
Follow up
Check that the work held up, ask for a review, and send occasional service reminders. You can opt out of any of it at any time.
Improve the site and our advertising
Understand which pages and which ads bring in real work so we stop paying for the ones that do not.
SMS consent, and what it does not do
How you consent to texts
When you submit a form on this site or give your mobile number to our office, you may consent to receive text messages from Black Stone Roofing about your estimate, your appointment, your job status, and occasional service follow ups. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of purchasing anything from us.
Your consent stays with us
No mobile information collected for SMS purposes will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Text message originator opt in data and consent are never shared with anyone. This is a hard line, not a preference.
STOP works, always
Reply STOP to any message to end texts from us. Reply HELP for help, or call the office at (540) 550-9703. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies with the stage of your project.
What carriers are responsible for
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed on every network.
Who else sees it
Vendors that run our business
Our website host, our customer relationship and messaging platform, our estimating software, and our email provider. Each one is contractually limited to doing work on our behalf. None of them are permitted to use your information for their own marketing.
Only on claims you asked us to help with
On storm and insurance work we exchange documentation with your insurance carrier and adjuster. That only happens on a claim you have asked us to participate in.
Warranty registration
When a job carries a manufacturer warranty, we register it, which requires your name and the property address. That is the extent of what goes to the manufacturer.
When the law requires it
We will disclose information when required by a subpoena, court order, or applicable law, or to protect the safety and legal rights of our customers, our crew, or the company.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to data brokers, lead sellers, or any other company. We have never done it and we are not going to start.
What runs in the background
Cookies that make the site work
Session and preference cookies that keep pages loading correctly and remember basic settings. The site does not function properly without these.
Traffic measurement
Analytics tools that count visits and show which pages people actually read. Reported in aggregate, not tied to a name.
Conversion tracking
We run search and social advertising. Those platforms may set cookies or use tracking parameters so we can tell which ads produced a real phone call. You can limit this through your browser settings and through the ad settings of the platform in question.
Turning it off
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most support a Do Not Track signal. Blocking cookies will not stop you from calling us or reading anything on this site.
Access, correction, and deletion
Ask what we have
Call or email the office and ask for a copy of the information we hold about you. We will provide it within a reasonable period after we confirm who you are.
Fix what is wrong
Wrong phone number, misspelled name, outdated address. Tell us and we will correct it.
Have it removed
Ask us to delete your information and we will, except for records we are required to keep, such as signed contracts, warranty documentation, and accounting records tied to completed work.
Get off every list
Reply STOP to texts, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or call the office and say the word. It takes effect immediately, not in ten business days.
How long we keep things
Active customer and warranty records are kept for the life of the warranty plus the period required by state law. Inquiries that never became jobs are purged on a rolling basis.
Security, children, and changes
How it is protected
This site runs over an encrypted connection and our platforms are access controlled to the people who need them. No system is perfect, and we are not going to pretend otherwise, but we do not leave customer information sitting in the open.
Not directed to minors
This site is meant for adults hiring a contractor. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child gave us information, call the office and we will delete it.
Where our links go
Some pages link to manufacturers, industry associations, and review platforms. Once you leave this site their privacy policy governs, not ours.
Updates to this policy
If this policy changes we update this page and the date at the top. Material changes to how we handle text messaging or data sharing will be posted here before they take effect.
